How to Track QR Code Scans (Analytics Guide)

How tracking works
A tracker only sees a scan if the phone hits the tracker's server first. The printed code stores their short URL, and they log the visit before sending the person onward.
What qrfyy does instead
A static qrfyy code encodes the real destination and is not counted. A Dynamic QR hits qrfyy first, then redirects. That scan record includes the time, device category, browser, operating system, and the referring page host and path when the browser sends one. Country is stored only when the network sends a country header. Otherwise it is recorded as Unknown. Full IP addresses are not stored, and scan details are kept for 90 days.
Count visits on the page instead
If the code opens your own site, your normal analytics already see that visit. You will not know it came from the QR unless you use a distinct URL, such as yoursite.com/menu?src=table.
What that still will not tell you
A distinct URL shows visits, not the person鈥檚 name. A Dynamic QR records the scan on qrfyy before the redirect. It does not store a name or a full IP address.
FAQ
Can I see who scanned my qrfyy code?
Not for a static code. A Dynamic QR records time, device, browser, operating system, and the referring page host and path when the browser sends one. Country is stored only when the network sends a country header. It does not store a person's name or full IP address. Scan details are kept for 90 days.
