What a scan does
Most modern phone cameras read the code and offer to join the network. The guest does not type the password.
Where to use it
A café table, an Airbnb or other rental, an office, a waiting room, an event, or a home guest network. Put it where the people you want on the network can see it.
Security notes
The QR contains your network name and password in readable form. Anyone with the code can join. Print it only where you are fine with people joining, and make a new code if you change the password. A separate guest network is the safer choice when visitors should not be on your main network.
Print tips
- Start with a width of about one tenth of the scan distance, then test the print. That chart is on the print size guide.
- Use a dark code on a light background.
- Leave a blank margin, the quiet zone, around all four sides.
- Scan it with your phone before you print a batch.
- Use SVG when the print is large. PDF and EPS wrap a PNG.
Static vs dynamic
A WiFi code is static. The network details are in the image, nothing is tracked, and the code does not depend on qrfyy. There is no dynamic WiFi option here.
FAQ
Is it free?
Yes. Static QR codes have no signup, no watermark, and no count cap. There is no paid plan.
Does it add a watermark?
No. Every export is clean — no qrfyy logo, no overlay, no forced branding. Download PNG, SVG, PDF, and EPS.
Does it expire?
No. A WiFi code is static. The network name and password are inside the image, so it does not depend on qrfyy. If you change the WiFi password, the old image still has the old password. Make a new code.
Is my password stored or sent to your server?
No. The network name and password are not sent to a qrfyy server. They are written into the QR image in your browser. The image contains the password, so anyone with the code can join the network.
Does it work with hidden networks?
No. There is no hidden-network option. The code always marks the network as visible. If your network is hidden, this generator cannot mark it as hidden.
Which security types are supported?
Three: WPA/WPA2, WEP, and None. There is no WPA3 choice.
